Gwyneth Paltrow hopes to transport women to a dreamland every time they spritz themselves with her new scent.
The Shakespeare in Love star is currently promoting her first ever fragrance, Edition 01, and she is thrilled to be part of the perfume industry.
"I am such a fragrance girl," she told PeopleStyle at the New York City launch. "I love (fragrance) so much, and I think it's so transportive and powerful and it can take you back in time, it can take you forward in time to dreams of your life, and I just think it's amazing."
Paltrow applied the all-natural sensibilities she advocates through her lifestyle brand GOOP while crafting the smoky incense-like aroma for Edition 01, which was made without any artificial ingredients.
"We want to create fragrance that isn't harmful, especially to our daughters who are growing and developing and I think we really all deserve that," she says of her decision to make the perfume free of synthetic materials. "That's what we're trying to do."
Gwyneth, who has become an expert on alternative beauty therapies over the years, wants people who buy her fragrance to feel like they're having an aromatherapy session with each spray.
"What I have learned is that there are incredible healing powers in flowers, in herbs, in barks, in plants," she smiles. "So we hired this amazing woman to take us through what was in the fragrance and tell us what the healing properties are. So it's good for meditation, its good for anti-depression, there's an aphrodisiac in there."
